PINZ is supporting Indonesia to maximise potential from its geothermal resources, enhance sustainable economic development and meet decarbonisation targets.
Indonesia and New Zealand in Partnership
The Indonesia-Aotearoa New Zealand Geothermal Energy Programme (PINZ) aims to support Indonesia to maximise its geothermal resources potential and achieve sustainable economic development goals by leveraging Indonesia’s strengths, as well as New Zealand’s longstanding support for Indonesia in geothermal energy.
The Indonesia-Aotearoa New Zealand Geothermal Energy Programme (PINZ)
PINZ will deliver NZ$15.64 million in geothermal assistance, building on the success of previous geothermal support programmes funded through New Zealand International Development Cooperation (IDC). PINZ will deliver technical assistance and capacity building services, within the scope of the following three areas.

Sector policy, regulation and planning support
We will provide technical inputs for geothermal sector planning, policy settings, regulations and standards.

Geothermal exploration and project preparation
We will provide targeted geoscience and other technical support for progressing geothermal exploration projects and preparing geothermal power and direct use projects for commercial development.

Geothermal workforce skills and capacity
We will explore and define capacity building needs with our Indonesian partners, building on previous support.
Our Team
PINZ is delivered by a team of geothermal experts, policy specialists, and programme managers who oversee the implementation of geothermal energy initiatives.
